POWERLIFTING WEIGHT CLASS TOOL

Should You Cut to a Lower Weight Class?

Choose your federation, compare the bodyweight change you would need, and see what the move could mean for your DOTS score.

Planning tool, not a weight-cut protocol. This calculator does not prescribe dehydration, water loading, sodium restriction, sauna use, or other rapid-cutting methods.
Reference context: Select a federation to use its weight classes.

How to interpret your result

The required weekly pace describes the gap divided by your available weeks. It is not a recommended weight-loss rate. DOTS at target holds your total constant; the break-even total is the lifted total needed to match your current DOTS at that target bodyweight.

Federation classes use kilograms. Switching kg/lb converts your populated bodyweight and total fields; custom class limits always remain in kg. Presets are reference tables, so verify your age division and event rules.

DOTS comparison supports 40–210 kg for men and 40–150 kg for women. It is independent of the federation’s official award formula.
